Evening Grosbeaks on Blacks Creek Road

At the end of December I took a quick afternoon drive up Blacks Creek Road just east of Boise while Nora took a nap in the back of the car. Unfortunately it took a while after our Christmas trip to Rexburg to get her back to her normal sleep schedule, and letting her fall asleep in the car (which is by far the easiest way to get her to take a nap) was the best way to keep the peace at home while we worked towards getting back to normal (i.e. napping at home in her crib like a good little girl). Fortunately, Nora and I tend to stumble on to interesting birds every now and then, and it’s always nice to take a quick break from my office when I can. On this trip, I found a nice flock of Evening Grosbeaks hanging out along the road just north of the Three Point Mountain Trailhead, on the downhill slope just after the summit.
