Hermit Thrush at Kathryn Albertson Park

In mid-November we took an early morning walk at Kathryn Albertson Park. The highlight of this trip was a handful of Hermit Thrushes hanging out in the northwest corner of the park. Most Hermit Thrushes leave Idaho for the winter, but a few tend to linger through the winter each year, and Kathryn Albertson Park has been a great place to look for them for a few years.

We enjoyed running into a few other birders while we were there, including Jesse and Junice Neubauer, and Paul Plante. We helped them track down the Hermit Thrushes and enjoyed chatting for a few minutes. It’s always nice to meet other birders.
